Hi there, this is probably not going to be the first or last message you get after today, but I just completed The Walking Dead season 2, episode 2, and I'm trying to track down the beautiful cover of Where did you sleep last night.
Was that you? I tried desperately to make sure I remembered the name in the credits, and I think I got it right.
I can't find a copy of the cover anywhere (which isn't surprising given that the episode literally just came out...), and would love to get my hands on it if that's possible at all.
Thanks for any help you may be able to give, and apologies if I've gotten entirely the wrong person!
Hi guys! First off, thank you so much for the kind words. It is indeed me singing over the credits of Season 2 Episode 2 of the Walking Dead. Secondly, I'm not totally sure if/when the song will be officially released but here is a link to the credits of the latest episode where you can hear the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ydEOXD5KEw That's unfortunately all I can offer you right now but if the song is ever released I will post here on my blog so keep an eye out! Thanks guys!
I could type out a whole story, but instead I'll just say that I wore down the grooves on my Leadbelly record and this is the first version in a very long time that caused me to well up. Hearing your voice with these lyrics makes my day easier. Thanks.
No joke, I think your version of "I Wish I Was The Moon" is better than Neko Case's. Keep doing what you're doing, because both your singing and your animation are GREAT! :)
You are amazing... simply amazing..blew my mind I can tell that you're singing right from your heart, I can't remember the last time I heard a voice so warm, truthful and welcoming. Thank you and keep it comin' :)
Just wanted to say thank you for being involved in producing a great and moving work of art in the Walking Dead, with a great company.
I am a huge fan of The Walking Dead game and what they have brought to the table for emotional resonance in gaming. I am a professional voice over actor and in awe of what Telltale has done. It is very rare to create something actually moving in this all flash and little substance industry.
Your rendition of In the Pines at the end of A House Divided was an instant classic, haunting and deep, a perfect cap to a, yet again, wonderful experience. Thank you for your animation work and your unique vocal contribution to a splendid project. I listen to it often... Scott McShane.
OH MY GOD!!! You are so amazing Janel! You sound like you should be touring around the world. I seriously tought you were a professional singer. Now I'm just a little bummed because you don't have an album!
Seriously tough, thank you so much for doing what you're doing. Both your animation and your singing are beautiful.
My name is Bolen Miller, I am an indie movie maker, and I am self funding my first feature. I know almost nothing about licensing songs, but I would love to use your rendition of "Where did you sleep last night" It is very moving. I know that music is very important to a movie and I feel your voice will add something deeper than my writing may penetrate, thank you for your time,
Hi, i'm from Argentina and my english is horrendous, anyway, i must say that the ending song of episode 2 (in the pines) is hyper emotional and very touching.
Thanks for that.
I hope Telltale release a soundtrack of season two.
Thanks for sharing the information. That’s a awesome article you posted. I found the post very useful as well as interesting. I will come back to read some more.professional voice over artist
